Get started
Bandleaders start on gigminion.com; everyone else starts from an invite. After that, everything happens at app.gigminion.com on your phone, tablet or computer.
1. Get your login
- Bandleaders: tap Start 10-day free trial on gigminion.com/pricing, create your login, then pick your plan and add your card in the app. Your first charge is on day 11, and you can cancel before then in Account → Plan & billing at app.gigminion.com.
- Band members, Fill-ins and Crew: open the invite email from your Bandleader and tap the link. Your login is free.
- Passwords need at least 12 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a digit.
- A quick security check runs on the sign-in screen. Wait for it to finish before you tap Sign in.
- Prefer no password? Use Email me a magic link.
2. Start a band
- Tap Start a band, enter the band name and tap Create band.
- The time zone is set from your device. Change it there if the band plays in another zone.
- You’re the Bandleader. In more than one band? Tap the band name at the top to switch.
- Next you’ll see Start with local venues: enter your ZIP code to add venues from GigMinion’s directory (see Find venues near me), or tap Skip for now.
3. Put it on your home screen
- iPhone / iPad: Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen.
- Android: Chrome menu → Install app.
- It then opens full screen, and what you last viewed still works offline.
4. Find your way around
Six tabs run along the bottom. Contacts shows only for the Bandleader and Right Hand.
- Each tab opens its module: Gigs opens the Gig Tracker, Songs the Song Library, Setlists the Setlist Builder and Band the Band Roster. Venues and Contacts keep their names.
- ☰ (top right) opens your Account: display name, password and security.
- ◐ switches between light and dark.
5. Invite the band
- Open the Band tab (your Band Roster) and tap Invite someone.
- Enter their email, pick a role, then tap Send invite.
- Band includes 5 members (you + 4); each extra member is $1.99/month or $19.90/year. Fill-ins and Crew are free and don’t count. Musician is just you.
- GigMinion emails the invite. If it doesn’t arrive, use Copy link and text it yourself.
- Sent the wrong one? Find it under Pending invites and tap Cancel invite.
Roles: who does what
Each role matches a job in the band. Booking and money stay with the Bandleader and Right Hand; the music side is shared with Core Members; Fill-ins and Crew see only what they need for the gig.

- Bandleader: runs and books the band, and pays for GigMinion. One per band.
- Right Hand: optional. Your second-in-command: a trusted person who books and helps run the band with you. Sees pay and booking contacts, edits gigs, venues and lineups, invites people and picks each gig’s official setlist. Always works under the Bandleader. A solo booker simply doesn’t add one.
- Core Member: a regular bandmate. Brings the music: songs, chords and setlist ideas.
- Fill-in Member: a sub. Sees a gig only after you add them to its lineup.
- Crew: sound tech, photographer, driver or partner. Read only, never money or bookers.
Gig Tracker
Your calendar, lineup and paperwork for every show. The Bandleader and Right Hand add and edit gigs; everyone else sees the calendar (Fill-in Members see only the gigs they’re on).
Add a gig
- On the Gigs tab, tap +.
- Fill in date, start and end, load-in, sound check, venue, attire, meals and notes.
- Pay (Bandleader and Right Hand): Gig pays (total $) is what the band is paid; finder’s fees and payouts work from it. Min pay per player ($) is what goes in the group text, like “$300 min”.
- Set the status: potential, confirmed, completed or cancelled.
- Tap Save.
- Show ends after midnight? Set the end time to the real clock time. The gig form notes it.
- Private event: checked keeps the venue and details off your public listings. Leave it unchecked for public shows.
Lineup
- The Bandleader or the Right Hand opens a gig and taps Add to lineup. Pick a bandmate, or use Someone without an account… to just type a name.
- Each person shows pending or ✓ confirmed. Everyone on the lineup can confirm their own spot from the gig.
- The Gig Tracker shows a “you’re on” pill on gigs you’re playing.
Calendar and wrap-up
- Add to my calendar gives you an Apple / Outlook file or a Google Calendar link. Pay is never included.
- After the date passes, confirmed gigs show Mark completed?. Tap it to close the gig out.
- + Build a setlist for this gig starts a setlist already linked to the gig.
Dress codes and house rules
- House rules are your band’s standard for every gig, like “no faded jeans” or “no running shoes”. The Bandleader or Right Hand sets them on the Band tab.
- Dress codes (Club, Private, Hawaiian…) say what to wear. Pick one under Attire on the gig.
- Allow for this gig: every box is unchecked by default, so the house rules apply. Check one only when that gig allows it, like Jeans OK this gig.
- The gig text lists the dress code, the house rules that apply, and anything this gig allows.
Send it out
- Copy for text builds the gig message for your group text, with each player’s pay.
- 🌐 Copy for website (Bandleader and Right Hand) copies a confirmed gig as a ready-to-post listing for your website or social media. Pay, contacts, lineup and notes are never included; private gigs show as “Private Event” and the city.
Suggest a gig (gig leads)
Know a venue, a party or a wedding that needs a band? Core Members and Fill-in Members can hand it to the Bandleader. A suggestion is a note, not a booking: nothing goes on the calendar until the Bandleader converts it.
- On the Gigs tab, tap 💡 Suggest a gig.
- Enter the venue or event, the contact’s name and their phone number. Email, a possible date and notes are optional.
- Pick how well you know them: Tip, Warm intro or Ready to book (see Finder’s fees below).
- Tap Send suggestion. Only the Bandleader and Right Hand see it.
- My suggestions shows your own leads and where each one stands: New, Working on it, Booked or Didn’t book.
- Changed your mind? Open a lead that’s still New and tap Withdraw.
For the Bandleader: working a lead
- Gig leads on the Gigs tab lists every suggestion. The gold number shows how many are new.
- Call the contact, then open the lead. Set the final level (or No fee), pick the date and tap Convert to a gig. GigMinion makes a potential gig and saves the contact as a booking contact.
- If it doesn’t pan out, set the status to Didn’t book.
- In Band, Allow gig suggestions turns the feature on or off. Checked lets Core Members and Fill-ins suggest gigs; unchecked keeps it to you and your Right Hand.
Finder’s fees
When a suggested gig books, the person who found it gets a share of the pay, off the top before the split, once the gig is played and the band is paid.
| Level | What you did | Starting fee |
|---|---|---|
| Tip | Gave a name and number; the Bandleader makes a cold call | 2% |
| Warm intro | Talked to them; they know the band and expect the call | 5% |
| Ready to book | Did the selling; they want a date | 10% |
- You pick a level when you suggest; the Bandleader sets the final one when converting. After that it’s locked, even if the band changes its percentages later.
- You see the status, level and percentage, never a dollar amount, so gig pay stays private.
- The Bandleader and Right Hand see the fee in dollars next to the gig’s pay, with what’s left to split.
- The Bandleader changes the three percentages in Band → Gig leads and finder’s fees.
Song Library
Your band’s library: keys, tempos, lyrics, chords and the one version everybody should learn. Core Members add songs and edit the ones they added; the Bandleader and Right Hand edit any song and are the only ones who delete.
Import your song list
- On the Songs tab, tap Import songs.
- Paste a list, paste rows from a spreadsheet, or choose a CSV file.
- Tap Import. Songs already in your Song Library are matched by title, so you won’t get duplicates.
Suavecito - Malo La Bamba | Ritchie Valens | C | 155
- One song per line. After the title, add artist, key and BPM, separated by
|. - Spreadsheet or CSV columns: Title, Artist, Key, BPM, YouTube.
The song page
- Stage: every song moves along Suggested → Woodshed → Rehearsal → Main Stage → Archived.
- Suggested: song ideas from the band (Suggest a song), waiting for a yes.
- Woodshed: the homework. Everyone learns it on their own.
- Rehearsal: the band works it up together. It can go on a setlist, marked as rehearsal.
- Main Stage: gig-ready. Archived: retired, kept for later.
- Use the → Rehearsal and → Main Stage buttons on a song, or the Stage picker on its page.
- Sub friendly: checked means a fill-in can play it with little prep.
- Key, starting chord, BPM, length, tags and a quick chord summary.
“Learn this version” ⭐
- Add YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music links under Add a link.
- Star one as ⭐ learn this version so everyone rehearses the same arrangement. The ▶ button in the song list plays it.
- No link yet? Find on YouTube runs the search for you.
Lyrics and chords
- 🔍 Find lyrics and 🔍 Find chords open a web search. Copy what you need and paste it in.
- Paste a chord sheet and GigMinion asks what to do. Lyrics with chords puts the chords inside the words, like
[G]Every [C]night. With Chart Builder you can also make a bar chart. - ✨ Tidy up cleans spacing and stray characters any time.
- Bar charts:
| G | C | D | G |. Bold:**chorus**. Repeats:(x2).
Chart Builder
Bar-by-bar chord charts, included in every plan. The band makes a chart once and everyone sees it.
Who can use it
- Every band has it, on every plan. There is no separate charge per member.
- The Bandleader and Right Hand build and change the chart on any song. Core Members chart the songs they added. Fill-ins and Crew read charts only.
Chords and lyrics
- Free on every plan: lyrics with chords over the words, the quick chord summary, Tidy up, and pasting a chord sheet as Lyrics with chords.
Where it is
- Open a song you can edit. The Chart (bars) box sits under the lyrics.
- Time sets the song’s time signature: 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 5/4, 6/8 or 12/8.
Build it by tapping
- Tap a chord, then tap the beat it lands on. Or drag a chord onto a beat (on a phone, hold it first).
- Type a new chord in + chord to add it to the row of chords.
- ⌫ Clear empties beats you tap.
- + Line of 4 bars adds a line; + Section starts a new section (Verse, Chorus…).
- ↶ Undo steps back.
Bar tools
- Tap a bar’s number to open them.
- Time signature for this bar: one bar in its own time, like a single 3/4 measure in a 4/4 song. It gets a gold outline and a “3/4” label. Pick Song (4/4) to put it back.
- ➕ Insert a bar before, ➕ Insert a bar after, ⧉ Duplicate this bar, ⌫ Clear this bar, 🗑 Delete this bar.
- Repeat this line (− / +) plays a line ×2, ×3 and so on.
- ↵ Start a new line at this bar and New section from this bar reshape the chart.
From a chord sheet
- Paste a chord sheet (chords on the line above the words) into Lyrics and choose Chart + lyrics (recommended) or Chart only.
- Chords already in the lyrics? Tap ↻ Make chart from lyrics. Each chord = sets how long each chord lasts: ½ bar, 1 bar or 2 bars.
- A draft follows the order of the chords, so check it against the recording, fix any bars, then save.
Typing instead
- Tap ✎ Edit as text. One line per row of bars:
[Chorus]starts a section,| G | C |is two bars,| G . C . |puts C on beat 3,| Bm | F# | x6repeats the line,| (3/4) C . . |is one 3/4 bar,| % |repeats the bar before.
On stage
- The chart shows on the song page and in Stage Mode. In Stage Mode pick Lyrics, Both or Chart.
Setlist Builder
Core Members build their own setlists; the Bandleader or the Right Hand marks one ★ Official setlist for each gig. Fill-in Members and Crew only ever see official setlists, so nobody shows up with the wrong list.
Build a setlist
- On the Setlists tab, tap Build a setlist.
- Name it and pick the gig (or a date if there’s no gig).
- Tap Add songs and choose from your Song Library: Main Stage, Rehearsal (marked as rehearsal on the setlist) or a saved song block. Drag songs to reorder, or drag them between sets.
- Use + Set break to start a new set and + Note line for things like “Birthday shout-out”.
- Tap Save setlist.
- ★ Make this the official setlist (Bandleader or Right Hand) sits on a setlist attached to a gig. The first setlist the Bandleader builds for a gig is official automatically. Drafts show a Draft badge.

- Optional: checked marks a song you’ll play if time allows. Totals show set length, plus a count of any untimed songs.
Import a setlist
- Tap Import a setlist, then paste text or choose a
.txtfile. - Start each set with a line like
## Set 1. Songs match your Song Library by title. - A YouTube link after a

- A− / A+ sets the text size. Your device remembers it.
- Pick Lyrics (words only), Both (chords over the words) or Chart (the bar chart, when the song has one). Your device remembers it.
- ▶ starts auto-scroll, with an adjustable speed.
Venues & contacts
Find venues near me (by ZIP code)
GigMinion keeps a hand-picked directory of rooms that book local bands: bars, pubs, breweries, wineries, restaurants, lounges, event centers, wedding venues and outdoor stages. Big touring concert halls are left out.
- Bandleader or Right Hand: on the Venues tab tap 📍 Find venues near me. A new band sees the same screen as Start with local venues.
- Enter a 5-digit ZIP code and tap 📍 Find. Venues are listed nearest first, with the miles to each.
- Distance: 5 mi, 10 mi, 25 mi (the starting choice), 50 mi or Whole area. Miles are a straight line from the middle of your ZIP code, so the drive is usually a little farther. Your device remembers the distance.
- Narrow it by room size (Duo / trio, Full band, Stage) or by town.
- Check the venues you want (or Select all shown) and tap Add venues to my band. They become your venues, yours to edit or delete. Venues you already have show ✓ In your venues and aren’t added twice.
- Areas covered: the Treasure Valley, Idaho (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle and nearby) and Southern California. A ZIP code outside a covered area shows Not in our directory yet; add venues one at a time with + and Find address. More areas are added as bands sign up from them.
- Home area: the ZIP code you choose sets your band’s home area, so choose wisely: it can’t be changed later.
- Venue Finder is an extra: your first area is $9.99 and each extra area is $4.99, one time. Areas work while your plan is active.
- Free trial: you can see every venue in your home area and add 3 of them.
- Locked, not lost: without an area you keep 3 free venues near your home ZIP. Venues from an area your plan no longer has are locked, not deleted, and come back when you unlock the area. Leaving Band Business keeps 3 venues open, one per badge, your own picks first. Venues you add yourself with + are never locked.
- Every add-on, explained
Venues
- On the Venues tab, tap +, then Find address to search by name.
- Have an address copied from an email or website? Paste address splits it into street, city, state and ZIP.
- Saved venues appear in the venue picker on every gig. The Bandleader and Right Hand add and edit venues; everyone sees addresses and load-in details.
Contacts
- Keep bookers, planners and venue managers on the Contacts tab.
- Only the Bandleader and Right Hand see this tab.
- Import contacts takes a pasted list, spreadsheet rows, a CSV from Google or Outlook, or a phone contact card (.vcf).
Website gig list
Put your shows on your band’s website and they stay up to date by themselves. On every plan.
Set it up (Bandleader or Right Hand)
- Open the Band tab, find Website gig list and tap Get my website code.
- Copy the code and paste it into the page on your site where the shows belong (in WordPress, use a Custom HTML block).
- Enter that page’s address under Website page with your gig list.
- Band name on your website: the name fans know you by. Leave it blank to use your band’s name in GigMinion.
What fans see
- Confirmed upcoming shows, then Recent shows from the last 90 days.
- Private gigs show only as “Private Event” and the city. Pay, lineup, contacts and notes never appear.
- Pick light or dark to suit your site. Every list carries a small “Posted by GigMinion” badge. Before you get the code, enter the address of the page where the list will go: the list shows only on that website.
- Pay yearly and your list can use your own colors and your website’s fonts. Automatic posting to WordPress is coming soon, as a paid upgrade.
Account & security
- Display name: ☰ → Account → Display name → Save.
- Password: ☰ → Account → Change password by email. Forgot it? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen.
- Two-factor (optional, recommended for Bandleaders and the Right Hand): ☰ → Security → Set up two-factor. Scan the code with an authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code. Add a second device as a backup.
- Offline: you’ll see “Showing saved copy.” when you’re offline. Changes you make are saved and sent once you’re back online.
Plan and billing
- Only the Bandleader pays. Band members, Fill-ins and Crew are always free.
- Musician: $24.90/year or $2.99/month, just you. Band: $99.90/year or $11.99/month. Pay yearly and you also get Business tools and a gig list in your own colors and fonts.
- Band includes 5 members (you + 4). Each extra member is $1.99/month, or $19.90/year on a yearly plan (prorated to your renewal date). Fill-ins and Crew don’t count.
- Every plan starts with a 10-day free trial, then is paid by card on autopay. If the trial ends without a plan, your band is locked until you start one.
- Yearly plans renew each year, and we email you 45 and 30 days before. Monthly plans renew each month; stop any time. Prices may go up at renewal, but never by more than 10% from one year to the next.
- Upgrades take effect right away (you pay the prorated difference). Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you paid for.
- Turning off renewal: your plan runs to the end of what you paid for. Then your band is locked. Start a plan to get everything back. We keep your data for 12 months, email you 30 and 7 days before, then delete it.
- Yearly plans: ask within 30 days of the charge for a full refund (one per account). Your band is locked when the refund is issued.
- Already a customer? You keep your current plan, price and terms until you change plans.
FAQ & troubleshooting
My fill-in says their calendar is empty.
- Fill-in Members only see gigs they’re on. Open the gig, tap Add to lineup and add them.
A bandmate never got the invite email.
- Have them check spam for mail from no-reply@gigminion.com.
- Or open Band → Pending invites, tap Copy link and text it to them.
Why can’t a Core Member see pay or booking contacts?
- Pay and bookers stay with the Bandleader and Right Hand. Make someone your Right Hand on the Band tab if they should help with booking.
Why can’t I edit a setlist?
- Core Members can change only setlists they built. Tap ⧉ Duplicate to make your own copy, or ask the Bandleader.
The sign-in button won’t respond.
- Wait for the security check to finish loading under the form.

I imported songs and got duplicates.
- Songs match by title. A typo or extra word creates a new song. Delete the extra from its song page (Delete song).
Does GigMinion copy lyrics or host music?
- No. GigMinion stores links and the lyrics and chords you paste in yourself. Find lyrics / Find chords just open a web search.
Who pays for GigMinion?
- Only the Bandleader. Band members, Fill-ins and Crew join free. See Plan and billing under Account above, or the Pricing page.
Can my players see what the gig pays?
- No. The Bandleader and Right Hand see the gig’s total. Players see only their own pay, in the gig text.
Why can’t I change a chart?
- Building and changing bar charts is on every plan. Core Members change charts only on songs they added; the Bandleader and Right Hand change any. Lyrics with chords stay editable too.
My ZIP code says “Not in our directory yet”.
- GigMinion’s venue directory covers the Treasure Valley, Idaho and Southern California so far. Add your venues one at a time with + on the Venues tab, and tell us your area with Contact support below.
Does it work on iPad and desktop?
- Yes. It runs in any modern browser. Add it to your home screen for the full-screen app feel.
Can I get a copy of all my band’s data?
- Yes. The Bandleader can order one PDF of the band’s songs, setlists and gigs: $49 (within 15 business days) or $89 rush (within 3 business days). Email billing@gigminion.com. A copy of your own personal information is free.
